Plains Church is also committed to sharing the good news of Christ.  The gospel is personal but it is certainly not private.  God works in and through the lives of his people to reach others with the good news of Jesus.  Missions has been a top priority at Plains Church from the very beginning.  The first Presbyterian missionaries to China in 1867 had roots in Plains Church.  Over the years our members have served far and wide for the sake of the gospel.  Still, we recognize that there may be no more important “mission field” than our own back yard.

It is our prayer that Plains Presbyterian Church would continue to remain rooted in God’s Word, established in the faith, and that our thankfulness to God would overflow into our community like the sprawling branches of the beautiful live oaks that surround our property.
